Longview, TX — LONGVIEW, TX—Becker's Hospital Review recently announced the publication of its list, “100 Great Community Hospitals,” which recognized Good Shepherd Medical Center as one of three Texas hospitals to make the list. The "100 Great Community Hospitals" list recognizes high-performing hospitals that have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs.
To compile this list, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team analyzed information, recognition and rankings from a variety of industry sources, including iVantage Health Analytics, Thomson Reuters, HealthGrades and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
“It is truly an honor to be included in Becker’s ‘100 Great Community Hospitals’ list,” Ed Banos, Good Shepherd president and CEO, said. “Good Shepherd has continued to grow and develop its services and education throughout the years and it’s a great time in our history to be recognized, as this year is the first year of our Internal Medicine Residency program.”
According to Becker’s, Community hospitals are a critical component to the American healthcare continuum. These hospitals are often the anchors of health and employment within their communities, providing patients with top-quality care close to home. The following hospitals have demonstrated commitments to the health of their local population through clinical excellence, community involvement and various other efforts.
