Emergency shelter, Lake Naconiche to open within days apart

NACOGDCOHES, TX — It appears that the grand opening of two major county projects could be weeks — maybe just days — apart.

The grand opening of Nacogdoches County’s emergency shelter and civic center is scheduled for 3 p.m. Aug. 30, and county officials are hoping the opening of the much anticipated Lake Naconiche will follow soon behind, pending lake and park rules and regulations approval by state and federal agencies.
