Lufkin ,Tx — “This is something that is needed, and well-deserved,” said school board president Andra Self, after the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees voted to unanimously approve a 4 percent, one-time stipend to increase teacher pay.
In a move that will cost the district $1,615,148, teachers will see a pay increase for the first time in two years. The one-time payment is to be made in November of this year.
