Longview Muslims celebrate Ramadan’s end in new mosque

Longview — It was a time of firsts Sunday when members of Longview’s Muslim community celebrated Ramadan in the city’s first mosque, first with special prayers, then with an outdoor feast to end the month-long fasting ritual.

The Islamic holiday of Ramadan occurs the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which runs parallel with the lunar year.
