NACOGDCOHES, TX — Construction is beginning on the controversial Gulf Coast Project, as cleaning and leveling of ground from Mount Pleasant to the coast has begun in preparation for the pipeline, officials said.
The Gulf Coast Project, which will tie in to the larger Keystone XL Pipeline project TransCanada Corp. is constructing from Canada down to the Gulf Coast, will move crude oil down to refineries and reduce dependence on foreign product, the company says.
