Shreveport, La — Police were alerted this afternoon to the tragic death of an infant at Shreveport's LSU Medical Center.
According to Corporal Marcus Hines, officers were dispatched to the hospital parking lot after an infant's body was found in an SUV.
The discovery was made by a parent of the girl sometime this afternoon. Hines tells KMSS the child could have been in the vehicle since as early as this morning.
Authorities could not say if the child was left by the parent who works at LSU Medical or if the infant had been left by another parent. It's uncertain how the little girl was left in the SUV.
No arrests have been made at this time.
