Lufkin mother is sentenced to 119 months in prison for co-sleeping death of son

Lufkin ,Tx — State District Judge Paul White on Thursday afternoon sentenced Vanessa Clark, 37, of Lufkin to 119 months in prison for the July 2010 co-sleeping death of her 4-month-old son, Tristan.

Clark wiped her eyes with tissue after White delivered the verdict, then cried as she hugged family members, including her husband, Mark, who was found not guilty of the charge in a separate jury trial.

Clark's attorney, John Reeves, said after the sentencing that there would be an appeal of the verdict, but he did not know if he would be the one representing Clark in the appeal.
