LUFKIN — Lufkin Police are investigating a string of house burglaries and attempted burglaries that happened over the course of the past week.
The burglaries happened between the hours of 7:30pm and 11:00pm, beginning on August 17th.
The most recent burglary happened on August 26th.
The burglarized houses were on Oleta Ave., Hemlock Rd., Shermell St., River Oak St., Brassell St., and Tom Temple Blvd.
Police say, each house showed evidence of a forced entry, or an attempted entry, and the outdoor lighting or telephone lines had been tampered with.
Three of the houses were occupied at the time of the burglaries, and when they confronted the burglar, he ran away.
The victims described the burglar as a tall, large, black man wearing dark colored shorts and a dark shirt.
