Part-time Zavalla police officer dead at 45

ZAVALLA — The Zavalla Police Department has lost a part-time officers this week.

Officials with the department tell KETK, officer Kevin Moody was found dead Thursday in Humble.

Moody's sister contacted Zavalla Police to inform them of his death.

Moody lived in Humble, and worked full-time for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, while working about 20 hours a week for the Zavalla Police Department.

Details about Moody's death were not immediately available, however, The Lufkin Daily News [2]reports that his body was found in his home after he did not show up for work.
