Longview, TX — The City of Longview is looking for nearly two dozen people or businesses that were written checks from the city, but never cashed them.
City of Longview spokesman Shawn Hara said the city is attempting to locate those recipients before the checks are sent to the state comptroller’s office.
The checks, ranging from $25 to over a $100, were issued for reasons such as utility deposit refunds, health claims, among other reasons, but were never claimed by the recipient.
Any check over $100 has to be submitted to the state by Nov.1.
Owners have until Nov. 1 to claim their money.
