tyler, tx — According to the Tyler Police Department, a robber, described as a black male in his early 20’s, 6’ tall, thin build, wearing a gray shirt with a black garment wrapped around his neck, walked into the Payless ShoeSource and showed a gun to the clerk, telling her it was a robbery.
During the heist, a woman walked into the store. The robber became nervous and grabbed the customer’s purse from and ran out of the store.
The gunman left the scene in a possible dark green Ford Explorer SUV with an unknown license plate.
No one was injured during the incident.

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
Police are investigating an alleged robbery that took pace this morning at a Tyler shoe store.
The incident happened shortly before 11:15 a.m. at the Payless ShoeSource located on the 3800 block of West Irwin Street.
A woman's purse was snatched by a man at the store. Authorities could not say whether the robbery took place inside or outside the business.
It's unclear at this time if the thief, who is described as a black male, was trying to rob the store before he stole the woman's purse.
