Lufkin, Texas — A concerned parent approached the Lufkin school board Thursday night to complain that the school’s gymnasiums are allowed to get too hot, putting student-athletes in danger.
Members of the community were present in support of the issue. Pam Jentz presented the issue and asked that action be taken on the matter. She presented the board with a petition signed by approximately 70 community members. The board members are required to follow a set procedures when addressing a new issue, so they were only permitted to listen and ask questions for clarification during the process.
