GREGG COUNTY - The FAA is investigating a single - passenger experimental plane crash that killed one man earlier this afternoon in Gregg County.
Department of Public Safety troopers say the plane was discovered around 4:00 by the landfill superintendent - in the southern part of the county.
There was no crash or explosion heard by anyone nearby.
The plane was found directly under some power lines.
Troopers have identified the victim, but aren't releasing his name until they tell his family.
