Lufkin ,Tx — More than 20 sheriff’s employees are losing their jobs after the Nacogdoches County Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved a $24.2 million budget.
“We’ve been cutting in other areas until there is nothing left to cut,” Precinct 1 Commissioner Jerry Don Williamson said. “The sheriff’s office is the only place left for us to cut to balance the budget this year.”
