tyler, tx — Let's let everyone in on the American dream.
Instead of just riding in the wheel barrow, let's let everyone push it-- at least for just a little bit.
This weekend, I was watching a show on the Revolutionary War. One of the things mother England hated so much about us was we were stubborn.
You see, a boat load of us had gone over here to the new country and liked it. We also did not like oversight and taxation for others, like those in England.
One of the learned professors they spoke with for the documentary said -- and I paraphrase -- Americans like being on their own. That fueled their spirit. They could be born with nothing and end up rich. The potential was there if you worked hard enough.
They also didn't like over taxation. Let each man stand on his own two legs. Those in British America wanted a small government and to break from a heavy tax yoke.
I wondered out loud if that professor knew how important those words were.
When England slapped on the Stamp Act, we went ballistic. It was obvious we believe in a small government and low taxes.
Sure, we take care of those who really have no recourse in life. So, let's let everyone roll the stone up the hill like Sisyphus.
A new Fox poll says 79% of America believes everyone should pay income tax, even if it's 1%.
I agree. Get some skin in the game.
Maybe you'll start paying more attention to your pay stub and start wondering where all the money is going.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
