Longview, TX — New sidewalks along Martin Luther King Boulevard are nearly completed, paving the way for the second phase of the city’s sidewalk construction project to begin soon.
Longview’s $670,000 sidewalk project on the city’s south side is part of a larger, $52.6 million street improvement bond approved by voters in May 2011. The next phase will see sidewalks constructed along Birdsong Street.
Construction crews this week are expected to finish the sidewalks on Martin Luther King Boulevard, that extend from Cotton Street to Young Street, said city spokesman Shawn Hara.
The $610,799 project is being completed by RVP Construction of Marshall.
