NACOGDOCHES COUNTY —
UPDATE (1:30pm): The woman killed in a four vehicle wreck near Nacogdoches Friday morning has been identified.
Nacogdoches County DPS officials tell KETK, Debby Austin, 52, of Lufkin, was killed.
The wreck happened on US Hwy. 59, just south of Nacogodoches, near County Road 609 at 7:55am.
Austin was heading southbound on Hwy. 59, when she crossed over the turning lane and into oncoming traffic, hitting three northbound vehicles.
Those vehicles were driven by Verra Fowler, 49, of Lufkin, Jamietra Hennington, 28, of Lufkin, and Lester Golden, 53, of Lufkin.
Fowler had minor injuries and was able to leave the scene in another vehicle.
Hennington was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Golden was taken to a local hospital, but is reported to have head, back and neck injuries because his vehicle flipped. He was talking when he was taken from the scene.
Each driver was the only person in their vehicle, and they had all been wearing seatbelts, including Austin, who was killed.
ORIGINAL STORY (11:00am): One person was killed in a wreck Friday morning in Nacogdoches County.
According to The Lufkin Daily News , It happened on US Highway 59 North near Woodland Hills Golf Course in Nacogdoches.
Multple people were injured in the accident.
Nacogdoches County DPS officials tell KETK that no further information is available at this time.
The identity of the person killed has not yet been released.
