Nacogdoches, TX — For the seventh straight year, Nacogdoches received an advanced rating by the Texas Department of Homeland Security for its disaster-response preparation.
The city has been at the advanced level for the past 10 years, and the county for seven, said Tommy Wheeler, emergency management coordinator for the city and the county. He is also responsible for initiating responses during emergencies.
