Justin Bieber has pulled off quite the prank.
After he tweeted Wednesday that his computer and camera containing "personal footage" had been stolen, the Internet was on high alert for leaks as rumors floated about everything from a purported naked photo of the 18-year-old singer (it wasn't him) to the possibility a Bieber sex tape.
On Twitter that same day, a user by the name of @gexwy seemed to have the footage Bieber was bummed about losing, taunting, "good job with the password protected @justinbieber. weak ... @justinbieber notice us and answer your dms or we are going to put the other videos from the camera out!"
By Thursday, @gexwy grew more insistent, tweeting, "@justinbieber i got your stupid dms. i dont think so. gonna show the world. TOMORROW! ... u've been warned. should of listened @justinbieber."
When Friday arrived, Bieber cryptically began tweeting "noon" along with links to various media reports about the secret footage fiasco.
But what the drama was really building up to was Bieber's release of his music video with Nicki Minaj for "Beauty and a Beat."
"Since i was 14 i have had a lot of things said about me, from dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family ...To saying i had a baby with a woman i never even met. nude pics, drugs, my family, my character," Bieber posted Friday. "But today...today i get to be in on it..."
