Tyler, TX — (continued story of: Tracking students using a chip can increase revenue.)
A tracking chip is being used to track students, and it's mandatory.
The Northside Independent School District in San Antonio Texas is keeping track of every move students make...on campus.
It's a -Radio Frequency Identification- chip also known as RFID.
Many people find it...invasion of privacy.
KETK spoke to Pasqual Gonzalez, Northside Independent School District, where the RFID chip is being used...
Out of 4,200 students, a handful of parents do not like the tracking chip due to religious reasons. They also feel it's... invasion of privacy. They also believe the serial number on the ID card is a mark of the devil, " says Gonzalez.
"We will respect people's religious beliefs and if that truly is true then we could make an exception for that one particular child," says Gonzalez.
