Masked burglars who broke into Lufkin store may have hit others in East Texas area

LUFKIN — Two masked men burglarized a Lufkin store early Wednesday morning.

Around 1:00am on Wednesday, two men wearing masks similar to those seen in the movie "Scream" busted a hole in the cinder block back portion of the Polk Pick-it-up store on the 1000 block of South John Reddit Dr.

The men then broke into the ATM and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The break-in wasn't discovered until later Wednesday morning, when the employees arrived around 4:30am.

Lufkin Police tell KETK, the break-in may be related to a string of similar burglaries in the East Texas and West Lousiana area.
