TYLER — UPDATE (2:27pm): Tyler Police have discovered another business that may have been a part of the same overnight burglary spree that occurred early Wednesday morning.
Taquerie E! Lugar 3, located on the 2000 block of E. Fifth Street, was burglarized as well as four others overnight.
Investigators are following up on evidence that was recovered on Damarian Amie that links him to this burglary.
ORIGINAL STORY (7:38am): A rash of overnight burglaries has landed three East Texas men in jail.
Tyler Police say the Laundry Room, XLN, Mama's Restaurant and the Midway Food Mart were all burglarized overnight.
At 2:06 am, police responded to the Laundry Room, where they found a broken window. Two men were stopped nearby and, as the investigation continued, both Lucarus Butler, 20 and Matthew Taylor, 17, were arrested for possession of criminal instrument and attempted burglary.
At 3:33 am, officers were called to XLN and Mama's Restaurant, both on East 5th. Officers found broken windows at both businesses.
At 4:24 am, officers were called to the Midway Food Mart on South Broadway. The business had been broken into. One suspect, Damarian Amie, 18, of Tyler, was apprehended nearby and arrested for attempted burglary.
