Lufkin, TX — Lufkin authorities are searching for a man who attempted to rob a local bank Monday afternoon.
At 3:31 p.m., the Lufkin Police Department was alerted to an attempted robbery at the First Bank and Trust, located at 541 South Timberland Drive. Employees reported a man approached a teller in the lobby and displayed a note demanding money. When the teller did not hand over cash immediately, the man ran from the bank.
The robber did not show a weapon or threaten anyone inside and was able to escape before authorities arrived.
Based on witness statements and images captured from the bank's security cameras, the bank robber is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 5’07” tall, wearing a dark colored t-shirt and a white and khaki colored baseball cap, and he has a thin, chin strap-style beard and mustache.
