John Tyler is #2 statewide.
Whitehouse is unbeaten.
Friday night at Rose Stadium they will battle for the gold ball, the district championship trophy.
Here is what Jack Stallard, the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal, told KETK's Danny Elzner about the matchup.
"John Tyler is ranked, as expected, #2 in the state in Class 4A.
Their only loss was to Lancaster. John Tyler scores a lot of points. They have some of the most spectacular athletes in East Texas in quarterback Greg Ward and receiver Fred Ross. Whitehouse snuck up on some teams this season. They're undefeated and they're playing their hearts out for coach Randy McFarlin. Their defense worries me. They score a lot of points but they give up a lot too. If Whitehouse can play some defense against a very explosive John Tyler team, it's going to be a great matchup."
