Longview, Texas — With the calendar pages quickly turning, Longview Animal Shelter Task Force members approved a model for a new animal shelter Wednesday that would be seven times larger than the existing facility.
At its weekly meeting Wednesday, Kevin Cummings, the city’s liaison to the task force, reminded the group that the mayor’s 90-day deadline to find a solution to the city’s animal overcrowding issue was fast approaching.
“At some point — we started in September — we need to get back to council with a recommendation,” Cummings said.
The group, Cummings said, was getting bogged down in specifics.
