Longview fire chief completes elite course

Longview — Longview Fire Chief J.P. Steelman has finished an exclusive four year course for the fire services’ elite — the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.

It’s not your typical plaque on the wall. Steelman is just the third member of the Longview Fire Department ever to complete the course — preceded only by Kent Morrill and Russell Marshall who still work with the department, Longview fire marshal Johnny Zackary said.
