Tyler, TX — The City of Tyler approved Monday morning the voting results from the November 6 General Election.
Council members called a special session to discuss two items-- one in relation to the newly passed alcohol proposition, E-1.
That item is listed as the following on the city's agenda:
"Request that the City Council consider canvassing the returns and declare results of the City Council Special Election/Local Option Election to determine Proposition No. 1 “The Legal sale of Mixed Beverages in restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders only” and Proposition No. 2 “The Legal Sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption only”, by adopting an Ordinance declaring the results."
Following adjournment, KETK asked Mayor Barbara Bass if she was surprised their was no opposition present. She was not and replied, "the voters have spoken."
The Smith County Commissioner's Court approved [2] their election results back on November 15.
