LUFKIN - One of the two cadets killed in an army helicopter crash on the campus of Texas A&M this past week was laid to rest on Saturday afternoon in Lufkin.
22-year old Zachary Ryan Cook was killed on Monday after an army black-hawk helicopter he was riding in crashed on the campus.
Family, friends and even veterans gathered in his home town to celebrate his life and to say goodbye.
He had graduated just weeks ago from A&M and was a member of the famed "Aggie Corps Of Cadets".
All of his fellow cadets were among the hundreds who gathered at Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Those that new him, say he left a big impression on just about everyone he met.
Zach Cook is survived by his father and mother, David and Becky Cook of Lufkin and brother, Second Lieutenant David Cook, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma
