Longview, TX — Longview’s old Texas National Guard armory near Teague Park is up for sale and the city would like to become the new owner.
That is, if the city can find about $500,000 to make the purchase.
The building at 307 American Legion Blvd. is currently used as a fire training facility.
The city leases the building for $100 a month.
Shawn Hara, city spokesman, said the state plans to sell the 55-year-old building along with the five acres it sits on. Teague Park shares part of that land, Hara said.
