Tyler, TX — The dust from the election is settling down. Now the mainstream media is in a panic about the so-called fiscal cliff.
The media is having a field day and expressing some relief that in their minds a few Republicans are sounding like they may break rank and go for new taxes. Nothing makes the media happier.
CNN dragged Grover Norquist on to make him explain why his no new taxes pledge makes sense in the new fast-moving world.
Well, of course it still makes sense-- to them.
I always am alarmed when the media all of the sudden care about conservatives. That whole phrase is sort of an oxymoron.
New York Congressman Peter King, Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Senator Lindsey graham of South Carolina and everyone's squishy friend John McCain may vote for new taxes.
Here is the problem, entitlements. So the game is locked.
And I'll tell you this. We've been over taxed for years.
I grew up in a part of this state that for years they just kept passing taxes to keep things afloat.
Now, .everyone is moving our of my home town of Beaumont because you cant even pay the school Texas much less property taxes.
If I thought for a moment higher taxes would work I'd hold my nose, but it won't because the feds spend too much. They love to pass out the gimmies.
That's why this president got reelected.
Why would he change now?
That's my point of view, what's yours?
