TYLER - Tyler police and the Smith County Sheriff's Department were looking for two men late saturday night, who they say robbed a woman at gunpoint several hours earlier, then led them on a chase throughout tyler in their vehicles and on foot.
just after 6:00 p.m., a 60-year-old woman reported being robbed at gunpoint while in her car.
She had pulled-over in a parking lot near the intersection of Fleishel & Dawson street on the south side of Tyler.
She told police that she apparently had been followed by an hispanic woman and two black men from an E-Z mart after filling up with gas.
After being robbed by the trio, she called police and gave them a description of their red SUV and a portion of it's licence plate number.
45-minutes after that call to police, the trio were spotted at the intersection of Broadway & Grande.
A high-speed chase then started westbound through Chimney Rock, Spring Creek, Rieck road and Rice road.
When the suspects came to a dead end at Rice road and Old Jacksonville highway, they jumped out and left their SUV behind.
A foot chase then started between police and the three robbery suspects, but it ended for one of the suspects in the parking lot of Davis-Green Paint & Body Shop on Old Jacksonville highway in south Tyler.
Police took the hispanic female into custody, and continued to chase the two black males on foot and by car.
Police set-up a perimeter in the area, which stretched towards Old Jacksonville highway and Grande boulevard, and continued through the housing subdivision's of Holly Tree and Oak Hollow.
By midnight Saturday, the two suspects were still on the run.
