Longview — If Longview gets a new animal shelter it will most likely be built on Kermit Street, on property owned by the Humane Society of Northeast Texas.
The 4.3-acre site emerged as the favored location after Humane Society board members agreed during their November meeting to convey the property off H.G. Mosley Parkway, near West Loop 281, to the nonprofit group created by the City of Longview and Gregg County.
