Tyler, TX — There was this meme going around during the election on Facebook which showed a picture of Barak Obama and a thought coming from his saying, "there are so many things I could do if this darn Constitution was not in the way."
Right now, you may be welling up with anger about what I'm saying, but yesterday, his aides tried to make him dictator again.
This is from Reuters.
The Obama administration's opening bid on Thursday in negotiations to avert a year-end fiscal crunch included a demand for new stimulus spending and authority to unilaterally raise the U.S. borrowing ceiling, a Republican congressional aide said.
The proposal, made by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to congressional Republican leaders on Capitol Hill was seen as offering little the Republicans could agree to and was actually laughed at by Republicans.
"We can't move any closer to them because they're not even on our planet," the republican aide said. "It was not a serious proposal."
it's not a legal proposal.
Yeah , let's just let the president control the money room like in Las Vegas.
Obama's negotiators sought the ability to raise the nation's borrowing limit unilaterally.
That means whenever they want to without any approval from Congress or anyone. Can you imagine the outcry if Bush proposed this?
Currently, Congress must approve an increase in the debt ceiling, just in case you slept through civics.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
