No. 2 Alabama held off a furious late charge by No. 3 Georgia on Saturday to earn a spot in the BCS National Championship game.
The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs 32-28 at the SEC Championship game in Atlanta and will play top-ranked Notre Dame.
Alabama has a chance to win its second straight national championship.
Fans packing the Georgia Dome were treated to a game packed with dramatic moments, including Georgia blocking an Alabama field goal try and returning the ball for a touchdown.
Alabama coach Nick Saban said he "was ready to have a heart attack" from the last Georgia drive, which came up four yards short of a touchdown.
"We created a great opportunity for ourselves" in the championship clash, Saban said.
