U.S. — The World's oldest woman has died at the age of 116.
Besse Cooper was only one of eight people recognized by the Guinness World Records to have lived that long.
She died peacefully Tuesday in an assisted living home.
Cooper, who lived in Monreoe Georgia, was one of the first women to vote in the state as part of the suffrage movement.
Cooper once said she lived so long because she watched what she ate and didn't cause trouble.
