Overton, Tx — Overton ISD students will be released early Wednesday morning due to a city utility problem.
City employees are currently working to repair the water system, which is failing to provide water to the east side of Overton, where the school district is located, according to Overton officials. Water supply was cut off at around 3 a.m. when a six foot pipe split on FM 850; workers will need replace 10 feet of the pipeline.
"East of Highway I35, people are most likely without water," said a city spokesman. They expect to have the problem fixed by this afternoon.
Due to the water outage, students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.
