TYLER — UPDATE (December 12th): The motorcyclist injured in Thursday's crash in Tyler has died of his injuries.
The Tyler Police Department tells KETK, hospital staff notified officials on Saturday, December 8, 2012, that Dillon Shelton, 20, had passed away.
The crash is still under investigation.
UPDATE (2:03pm): Tyler Police have identified the individuals involved in the motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon.
Police say Dillon Shelton, 20, was driving a motorcylce northbound on South Broadway Ave. in Tyler around noon, when the accident happened.
Shelton was in the outside lane, when the driver of an SUV, Pam David, 63, of Kilgore, attempted to make a u-turn from the southbound lanes of Broadway at the intersection of Heritage Dr.
Shelton hit the front of the SUV, and was sent to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were not injured.
Accident investigators are on the scene, and are working to determine who is at fault.
Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
UPDATE (1:21pm): Witnesses tell KETK crews on scene that the driver of the motorcycle is a man in his 20s.
He has been taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
His name has not yet been released.
Traffic on South Broadway is moving smoothly, but Heritage is partially blocked while Police investigate the wreck.

The wreck happened Thursday afternoon near Heritage Dr.
