Tyler TX — Hotels aren't the only places that are booked up around the holidays, pet boarding locations say they already plan on being full.
When most people travel, the last thing they want to worry about is kenneling their pet. Christina Nickels, pet owner, said, "This was my first time boarding, I got on the internet and researched, and this place just had so much to offer so I thought well ill go by and check it out." Her biggest concern is, "To know she was going to be well taken care of and loved."
Most vets have kennels, but nowadays, places are offering a "luxury" boarding experience, with a TV in each room, an off the leash dog park, and even room service
Kennel manager at "Bed Bath and Bonz" says, "You can give them chicken and rice, steamed vegetables, doggie ice cream, along with room service we also offer movie and a popcorn." Katy Allison says they board just about anything and if people plan to leave their furry friends behind this Christmas vacation...they should make their reservations now!
"During thanksgiving i want to say we had maybe over 200 dogs here, we had about 150 reservations," said Allison. Allison also said places like this also offer pet day care, "She gets dropped off at 8 in the morning and her mom picks her up around 5 in the afternoon, and she does that Monday through Friday." Pet boarding prices range anywhere from $10.00 a day to more than $50.00 a day, depending on how many doggie ice creams and belly rubs you want to buy them.
