Jack Stallard spoke with KETK's Danny Elzner about this Friday's state semifinal games.
"Gilmer is the last team standing from a great district. That district has prepared them for these tough playoff games. This was not supposed to be their year. This is still a young football team. The quarterback is a junior, 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. Their leading receiver is a sophomore. Their leading rusher is a sophomore. Their leading tackler is a junior who has committed to Texas A&M. A freshman on defense is putting up crazy numbers. This team is set up for a long run again next year. The Buckeyes are having some fun in Gilmer."
"This was expected from John Tyler. Great team last year and all those kids are back. Quarterback Greg Ward is phenomenal. Fred Ross might be the best receiver in the state. Tyus Bowser has 23 sacks. This is what everybody expected from the Lions."
