Price, Texas — Tammy Ellison of Price Texas says she was called upon by God to set up some type of memorial in her own town to help remember all the victims lost in Friday's shooting in Newtown Connecticut.
Ellison set up a memorial just outside of her 6-year-old son's school, Carlisle Elementary. She says it hit home for her since she has a son the same age as most of the children who lost their lives that day. Ellison says, "Nobody had a place where anyone was setting up a vigil or memorial or anything so I prayed about it and I said ya know what I'm gonna step up and do it."
She says when she saw that people were traveling hundreds of miles to go to Newtown to pay respects to the families, she knew she wouldn't be able to travel so she set up something in her own town to show her respect.
She hopes the people of Price, Henderson and the surrounding communites can come to the memorial to pray, set flowers and just take a moment to remember all the lives lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre.
