Houston — A Metro driver died on Tuesday when he lost control of his bus and crashed into a street sign along the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston, officials said.
The driver was alone on the bus about 7 p.m. when it struck an exit sign along the inbound Gulf Freeway feeder road near Broadway. He has not been identified.
Metro officials at the scene said they were still trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the bus that was out-of-service at the time. They said it appears no other vehicle was involved in the crash.
