Longview, TX — Spring Hill Independent School District trustees voted Monday to reinstate some positions eliminated during this past year’s budget cuts.
“These were positions that were eliminated about a year ago when we were dealing with some financial setbacks, but we realized that not having them was making things complicated,” said Superintendent Wes Jones.
The high school, junior high and primary school campuses were approved to have full-time receptionists in their offices. There will also be a new aide at the primary school, he said.
“The board and administration were hearing from parents who were concerned that the front offices weren’t adequately staffed,” Jones said. “This will make it easy for people to contact school officials and to obtain documents like transcripts and verification of enrollment forms.”
