FLINT — Some stores in Flint received their permits to sell alcohol late Wednesday night.
The Brookshire's grocery store on the 20000 block of Hwy. 155 in Flint began selling beer and wine for off-site consumption after receiving their permit approval from the TABC on Thursday.
In a release from Brookshires, the company states:
"Consumers expressed their opinions with the November election, and Brookshire Grocery Company began working through the appropriate procedures once Proposition 2 passed and the results were certified. Other Brookshire Grocery Company stores in Tyler and Smith County are awaiting their approval from TABC."
Another Flint store, Craft Corner on the 18000 block of FM 2493 began selling alcohol as early as Wednesday evening.
The store's manager tells KETK, they received their permit and first delivery of alcohol on Wednesday, and their second delivery is arriving Thursday morning.
