TYLER — As KETK reported a few months back, one of the first things Stephanie Pryor's family did to raise funds for her recovery is have a good ol' fashioned garage sale in their front yard.
A larger benefit was held for her just last week in Tyler.
Now with Christmas just a couple of days away, Stephanie's family and friends piled into their cars on Sunday to go visit her at a rehab facility in Anna, where she's making a lot of strides.
"I mean, for her to be talking clearly and for her to be walking like she's doing, these are things that the doctors really didn't think was gonna happen with this brain injury. So she's shocking a lot of people," said Stephanie's sister Jennifer Payne.
Stephanie has two children.
One of them is too young to understand what's happened to her mother. But regardless, the family is making sure they have a great Christmas with Stephanie.
"We've all pitched in and come together as a family and got the kids Christmas. And we're gonna let the kids have a piece of their momma and have a normal Christmas," Payne said.
Stephanie's dad Earl Pryor tells KETK he appreciates what the community has done for Stephanie.
"I'd like to thank Tyler, the people of Tyler for all their support. And for my daughter for the good job she's done," Pryor said.
