NACOGDOCHES — The Stephen F. Austin State University Marching Band performed at the New Year's Day Parade in London on Tuesday.
The university was given a personal invitation by a Lord Mayor of London in September of last year.
An estimated half million people watched 13 U.S. marching bands and cheerleaders at the event.
The parade began at the celebrated Ritz hotel at Piccadilly and ended on Parliament St.
The theme of the parade was "Hats off to London".
Several band members said that the trip to London and their participation in the parade was one of the most memorable experiences in their lives.
Congrats to the SFA Marching Band from KETK news!
