Lufkin, TX — An 82-year-old Lufkin woman paid for two anonymous anti-Barack Obama billboards that did not contain the required political disclaimers, according to Federal Election Commission officials who recommended last month that no action be taken against her.
Virginia Winston, who in July 2011 paid for the billboard advertisements that spoke out against reelecting President Obama, wrote to the FEC investigators that she was unaware at the time that disclaimers and reporting requirements were mandated by the agency.
