SMITH COUNTY (KETK) — The retired dentist accused of shooting his wife to death back in June of 2012 appeared in court Monday morning.
Bobby Ray Nichols, 76, of Tyler, is expected to have his trial set this afternoon following a hearing this morning in the 7th District Court. The honorable Kerry L. Russell is the presiding judge.
Nichols allegedly shot and killed his wife of 26 years, Rosiland Nichols, at their home on Allen St. in Tyler.
He was released on July 3rd on a $750,000 surety bond.
Nichols is charged with murder, a first degree felony.
KETK will have a news crew in the courtroom when Nichols' trial begins.
