Multiple accidents in ETX due to icy roads
EAST TEXAS (KETK) — There were several wrecks on Tuesday morning that officials are attributing to the wet roads.
The photo above was taken by KETK crews on Highway 31, near the Sabine river bridge.
There were four different wrecks at that location Tuesday morning, involving 13 vehicles.
As of 9:00 am, the westbound lanes were cleared and eastbound traffic was down to one lane, but authorities are working to clear the eastbound lanes.
There were no injuries reported.
Officials attribute the wrecks to the icy and wet roads, and ask that drivers slow down, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Longview Police also tell KETK, there were at least three wrecks within 30 minutes on Interstate 20 near Estes Pkwy. and Eastman Rd. early Tuesday morning.
Luckily, the wrecks on the Interstate have not caused much delay for commuters on their way to work.
KETK will continue to monitor traffic reports for more information on any weather related wrecks in the area.
