Saturday is a big day for people who love their guns.
A new organization of Gun Rights and Conservative groups is now declaring Jan. 19, 2013 "Gun Appreciation Day."
The coalition is encouraging citizens across the country to support gun ownership by going to a shooting range, a gun show, or your local gun store.
Grassroots America is one of the groups that has joined in.
Joey Coker, a member of Grassroots America, said participating in events on this day are crucial for those who support the right to bear arms.
"Rational people want to protect their children. We just don't think taking the rights away from people is the way to do it," Coker said.
The purpose of this day is a protest against this administration.
"Gun Appreciation Day" members are furious with the Obama Administration's decisions on gun rights after the shooting at Sandy Hook elementary school.
Robert Quates, shooting instructor at Lock and Load, said it is important for people to learn about guns and how they are used.
"A lot of people they are scared of fire arms. They want gun bans but they don't understand firearms. They've never shot one and unless you hold and fire one you don't really understand our point of view of the Second Amendment," Quates said.
"Gun Appreciation Day" members are asking citizens nationwide to line up around the block at gun stores, gun shows and gun ranges to show their support.
If not, members say we could lose part of our freedom.
"The Gun Appreciation Day is going to help support the Second Amendment and when it comes down to the Second Amendment if people don't stand up now for it, it could be gone later," Quates said.
