Tyler (KETK) - KETK's Danny Elzner talked with the newest Astros pitcher, Philip Humber.
The East Texan was the featured speaker at the Breakfast of Champions at Green Acres Baptist Church.
Here is what Humber said about his faith.
"It's hard to take faith out of any part of your life. For me, baseball is the reason I'm getting to talk today. But it's not really what defines me. That's what I hope to get across to these guys. God will have them hear what He has for them. Keep Christ at the center of your life. In the Bible, it was tough for the Israelites way back in the day. It can be tough. You can get wrapped up in anything, a career, a relationship or whatever it might be. There are lots of distractions that try to take us away from that focus. It's a daily thing. Take up your cross daily and follow Me. That's what Jesus said. That's where we have to be as men, to be willing to lay down our lives and follow Him."
